It might be worth, however, letting you know of the sort of support we can give for Advanced Higher students. Last year we supported a number of students via email ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) is probably the easiest one for them to use). We are happy to troubleshoot experiments, to suggest improvements and so forth. What we can't really do is design an investigation from the ground up for a student, though we have suggested third experiments when a student has come up with two good ones already. You and your students are welcome to visit SSERC (by arrangement, obviously) to use apparatus you can't access at school, for example our spectrophotometers. In these cases, the expectation is that those visiting know what they are going to do with the equipment. We supply the apparatus and show the student how to use it. Students do not need to be accompanied by teachers. students taking up this offer have hailed from as far away as the islands and Dumfries and Galloway. Remember, all of this is free to SSERC member schools. If you're not sure how we can help, please email, telephone or come and visit for yourself. Te. 01383 626070 |
