SSERC-led Professional Development 2011-2012 Report [PDF - 1.22 MB]
SSERC provides a national programme of professional development in support of science and technology education. In the period from April 2009 to March 2012 over 90% of Scottish schools and colleges were represented at one or more of our professional development courses. Such work could not be achieved without the support of a range of partners, most notably the Scottish Government and the National Science Learning Centre.
SSERC Annual Science and Technology Conference (Carnegie Conference Centre, Friday 7th December 2012) - This conference is free of charge to teachers, technicians, Health and Safety officers and any other interested personnel from a Local Authority or SSERC member organisation.
This year we are offering a range of workshops which highlight safe, reliable and relevant resources for teaching and learning. During these workshop delegates will have the opportunity to try out SSERC developed materials that support both CfE and the new qualifications. The conference provides an opportunity to meet with our team to discuss recent developments in health and safety and the support which SSERC, as a Local Authority shared service, can offer across the science and technology curriculum. Sessions at the conference will include:
